137 - Urban Legends of Television Static

【テレビの砂嵐伝説、terebi no suna-arashi densetsu】
[The Japanese call television static "suna-arashi", lit. sandstorm.]

When the TV finishes broadcasting a program, the screen goes into a state called "static". There are many legends surrounding TV static.

It is said that if someone watches the static for more than 30 minutes, they will die or go insane.

A desert appears in the middle of the static, and a beautiful woman in an Arabic-style outfit emerges and takes the viewer inside the TV.

Images come on the screen three-dimensionally, akin to 3D art, and scenes of murders appear among the images. However, another rumor claims that slightly erotic images will appear instead.

There is even a rumor that the names of those who have not paid their subscription fees will be shown after a certain state-run broadcasting company finishes its program.

In any case, watching TV for long hours until late at night is not good for one's health, is it?

There are some rumors mixed in with these urban legends that may provide you with some benefits, but even so, it is best to watch TV in a well-lit room and not sit too close to the screen.
