【古今著聞集、kokon chomon-juu】
A collection of tales compiled by Tachibana no Narisue in 1254 during the Kamakura period. It consists of 20 volumes and 30 stories, including stories from existing collections such as "Tales of Times Now Past (Konjaku Monogatari-shuu)", "A Collection of Tales from Uji (Uji Shuui Monogatari)", and "A Miscellany of Ten Maxims (Jikkinshou)".
Many of the stories are domestic tales from the Heian period (794-1185), and are categorized by content and date, such as literature and waka poetry, making the collection highly valuable as a resource.
